It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane… No, it’s an Activist!

On my way to work today I saw a bit of a sight…

Yes, there were people climbing up the side of the Chicago Board of Trade Building.

I counted 4 fire trucks, 6 ambulances and over a dozen police officers all watching.

There were also several streets blocked off to traffic.

It was part of a group effort from the Rainforest Action Network (RAN), the outfit is based in San Fransisco. The only thing on their website about this I could find was this part of it’s general Non-Violence Statement:

Rainforest Action Network (RAN) does not support or condone violence in any form. We believe that peaceful protest and civil disobedience are powerful forces for change in a democratic society, and we defend the rights of individuals and organizations to practice them.

I emailed the group, but have yet to received a response.
