Alright, first off we made it just fine as you can tell. I’m posting to my Blogger. lol. My sister Lana and i left Chicago O’Hare on the 13th for our uneventful flight of about 8 hours to Amsterdam. Once we got to the airport in Amsterdam we were picked-up by Abby, and by her host mom and one of the little boys. It was an easy ride back to Rotterdam, about 45 mins, where we then got settled in and introduced to the rest of the family.
After having some tea and a bit of conversation with everyone we wrapped gifts, got “freshend up” and headed out for dinner. We had dinner at this little cafe the family had never been to, so we tried it out and it was good. It was very good dutch food.
After dinner we went to the town square in Gouda, where the cheese comes from. It was lots of fun hearing speches, laughter and a whole crowd singing in a differant language.
After all that was done, we found our car and got stuck trying to get out of our parking spot. Turns our the Emergency Break was on and no one noticed. Except, that is, for the tow-truck guy.
We got home late and then fell asleep. It’s now the afternoon on the 15th and we aren’t doing much. Today we leave for a few days in Amsterdam. That will be fun.
always learning,
-joel
